The Calhoun County Conservation District was interested in recreating aquatic organism connectivity in this water course and hired CEI to develop the design, monitor the construction, and assist with grant administration. A perched culvert resulted in a vertical barrier that blocked any migration beyond this point in the stream. CEI designed a series of boulder veins to progressively let fish and other aquatic organisms overcome this vertical blockage. A new, legally established and maintained Garfield Lake level was part of CEI’s duties for this conservation project.
